Can I be a Senior in High School but be 17 and start the program?
Yes, you can start at 17 but must be 18 when the apprenticeships begins.
Do I need to show a minimum GPA or education experience to be awarded the scholarship?
No, we do not request that information. The Techdegree is intense. It requires focus and determination to complete but people from all types of backgrounds have successfully completed the coursework. You must have basic English reading and writing skills.
Do I need to be a U.S. citizen to participate?
No, but you will need to be able to produce right to work documents to become an apprentice.
Does a criminal background exclude me from participating?
Criminal history may be considered as part of the overall screening process by some of our Employer partners. A conviction or pending criminal charges are not an automatic bar from employment. Each case is evaluated on its individual merits in relation to the duties and responsibilities of the position as well as potential federal or state guidelines the Employer may need to follow.
Will I be able to attend college while I complete the TalentPath program?
Unfortunately No, the coursework is designed to mirror a schedule of a full-time student. You will have mentors assisting you throughout the process helping you stay on track.
Will I be able to work while I complete the TalentPath program?
Yes, the coursework is designed with the idea you will do 3 to 4 hours a day from the start date of the program. You will have mentors assisting you throughout the process helping you stay on track. These 3-4 hours can be spread out throughout the day.
Do I need to be good in math or science to participate?
Not necessarily, coding is really about problem solving and creativity. The base of coding is learning a language. For UX Design, you'll want to be comfortable researching and proposing solutions to problems with websites and apps. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important.
Can I work on the TalentPath program from my phone?
No, all coursework requires a computer. If you don’t have a computer or access to one, please let us know. We may be able to assist with that.
